Tasting Notes
Subtle richness with balanced acid, our 2022 Chardonnay offers aromas of Barlett pear,vanilla, brioche, and subtle minerality. The balanced palate exhibits flavors of crisp pear and apple, with crème Brûlée and caramel. The wine has medium body with a subtle richness and balanced acid. Drinks nicely now and will improve through 2027.Vineyard Notes
The Estate Bon Passe Vineyard is located in the southwestern bench lands of Napa Valley, in the Oak Knoll District appellation. The 2022 vintage is comprised of fruit from out estate vineyard and additional fruit from a neighboring vineyard called Bitterroot for this vintage only. The vineyard is a very close neighboring vineyard and allowed us to make 300 additional cases after a few years of limited supply.Production Notes
100% Barrel fermented with native yeast. The wine was aged sur lie and the lees were stirred every 2 weeks for the first 6 months of aging. The wine went through malolactic fermentation.Winemaker Notes
A dry winter with moderate temperatures led to a Chardonnay budbreak in early March at the estate Bon Passe Vineyard. A slightly cooler spring and rains in March and April were followed by a few brief heat spikes in May and mid June. Late summer brought warm temperature that pushed the fruit to ripeness and making the estate fruit ready to harvest on September 9th and the neighboring vineyard September 15th.| Download Wine Tasting Notes | |
